Fine Gael candidate for Dundalk-Carlingford, John McGahon, has welcomed the news from the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgearld T.D. that St.Helena Park will receive a €10,000 allocation for upgrading and maintenance.
“Having grown up playing in St.Helena Park and living only a few hundred meters from it, I know how important this local park is to sports team, joggers, children and parents alike”.
“It was only twelve years ago when the playground was originally constructed and it’s great to see its continued upgrading”. I will be writing to Minister Fitzgerald in the coming days to clarify when the funding will be made available, and when the work will commence”.
